About Traverse Line
Traverse Line is an independent tour operator specialising in small group and bespoke travel to the Himalaya and Southern Africa. We offer a choice of some of the very best mountain walking tours in these regions, ranging from popular objectives such as Everest Base Camp in Nepal, or a traverse of the Drakensburg Mountains in South Africa, to remoter regions such as the Kingdom of Mustang in Nepal, or the Spiti Valley in Himachal Pradesh, Northern India.
We specialise in tours to high mountain regions and remote areas. However, we accommodate a wide range of tastes and ambitions - our tours include expeditions to many Trekking Peaks in the Himalayas, as well as more sedate breaks to luxury tented camps in both the Himalayas and Southern Africa.
Tailor-made Service
Not only do we have extensive experience of the mountain regions where we operate, we also have good in-depth country knowledge; we offer a complete tailor-made travel service and can help you with onward travel extensions to game parks, beaches, cities and other wilderness areas in our chosen countries.
 Guided Trekking
In all of our countries, we offer fully escorted trekking, tours and expeditions with experienced professional guides and support teams. All of our tours are put together on a bespoke basis, drawing from our own extensive local knowledge and experiences and assistance from our partners on the ground. We choose to work with carefully selected in-country teams who provide an excellent, personalised service.
How we are different
For many, trekking in the Himalayas means joining a large group of strangers, frequently between 12 and 16. In some cases, treks do not run owing to the fact that minimum group sizes are not achieved, which can obviously be frustrating. It can also mean travelling busy routes which detract from the wilderness experience. Traverse Line sets out to be different in a number of ways:
- All of our tours are run for small groups, which we believe are not only safer in high mountain environments, but are also more intimate, rewarding and enjoyable. Most of our treks are run with a maximum of 10 participants, and trekking peak climbs operate on a maximaum of 8 participants with a ratio of 1 climbing guide to 4 clients.

We operate a number of fixed date treks. However, all our tours can be arranged on a fully bespoke basis. That is to say, an itinerary designed for you on dates to suit, with exclusive use of guide. We pride ourselves on our attention to detail, and committment to designing treks that work, around "you".
