BASICS
Grade:
Strenuous - this is a high altitude trek requiring good all round trekking stamina. Participants should feel comfortable tackling 5-6 hour outings on consecutive days over terrain akin to highland areas of Britain, and have a good level of general fitness.
Duration:
A minimum of 20 days is recommended, with arrival in Kathmandu on Day 1 and departure from Kathmandu on Day 20. 15 days are spent on trek
Altitude:
Much of the trek is spent at altitudes close to and in excess of 4000m and two high points are attained: Chhukhung Ri (5550m), and Kala Patthar (5550m).
Style:
The trek will be lead by an experienced, personable guide and supported by a team of porters. You will stay in Tea Houses throughout. During the day, porters will carry your main luggage, and you will carry essential items in a day-sack
Minimum number of participants:
2 persons for tailor-made expeditions
4 persons for fixed date group treks
Best Time:
March to May, and end of September until the end of November
