School Trips to South Africa

School Trips to South Africa

In a nutshell, the aim of our schools programs is to afford young people the opportunity to expand their horizons and enrich their lives through a range of exceptional experiences that encompass Adventure, Wildlife, Native Culture (community interaction and contribution) and History, on the vast, colourful, seemingly limitless and mind-expanding continent of Africa – all this within a safe, well-organised supporting framework.

Although we arrange travel across South Africa, the province of KwaZulu-Natal is particularly well suited to school groups.  There is tremendous variation in this region, ranging from the high Drakensberg mountains in the west, through fertile Midlands and the open savannah plains and bushveld of Zululand, to a lush, sub-tropical coastline in the east.  The key geographical and activity areas can all be linked easily, and guiding, transport and accommodation infrastructure is excellent.

Why us?

It’s tempting to say “because we’ve done it before”, which of course is true, but the reasons are much deeper than that.  Traverse Line has deep knowledge of the areas where we host school groups, and has been conceiving and running tours there for people from a wide range of backgrounds and age groups since 2005 - we started visiting the area in 1990! We work with exceptional local guides we know well and trust, who have previous experience with school groups, and we have a strong working relationship with the wider network of in-country support people.

We pride ourselves on our ability to pay attention to detail, listen to what you want, provide clear information, and strive to keep costs down where possible without compromising service. In short, our itineraries work.
